Prime Video yesterday announced that the fourth season of ‘Reacher’ will premiere exclusively on August 12 in more than 240 countries and territories, launching with three episodes followed by weekly releases through September 16.

The streamer also confirmed that the action-thriller series, headlined by Alan Ritchson, has already been renewed for a fifth season.

The announcement also highlights the strong performance of ‘Reacher’, with its third season drawing 54.6 million global viewers in its first 19 days on Prime Video, making it the platform’s most-watched season since ‘Fallout’ Season 1 over the same period.

All three previous seasons of ‘Reacher’ are currently available to stream on the service even as the trailer for Season 4 was released.

Season 4 is based on ‘Gone Tomorrow’, the 13th novel in Lee Child’s bestselling series. The new instalment follows Jack Reacher after a chance encounter with a distressed stranger on a subway turns deadly, pulling him into a dangerous conspiracy involving ruthless adversaries from the highest levels of power.

Prime Video said the season finale on September 16 will be followed by the release of all eight episodes of ‘Neagley’, a new series set in the world of ‘Reacher’.

The spin-off stars Maria Sten, who reprises her role as Reacher’s former military protégé turned Chicago private investigator.

The latest season stars Alan Ritchson in the title role, continuing the adaptation of Child’s globally bestselling Jack Reacher novels.
