Netflix has announced a new reality competition series based on the iconic board game ‘Monopoly’. The streaming platform has also opened casting for contestants, with the show expected to premiere in fall 2027.
According to Netflix, the series will feature 12 contestants who will enter a life sized ‘Monopoly’ town, where they will compete in a game inspired by the classic board game.
Throughout the competition, players will take part in physical and strategic challenges while buying properties, making deals, forming alliances and protecting their money in an effort to stay in the game.
As the competition progresses, contestants will face unexpected twists that could change the course of the game. Every decision will matter, as players try to outsmart their rivals and avoid elimination. The last contestant remaining will be crowned the winner and take home the grand prize.
The series is designed to recreate the excitement of ‘Monopoly’ in a real-world setting, combining strategy, competition and entertainment. The show is based on the globally popular Hasbro board game, which has been enjoyed by millions of people for generations.
Netflix has also invited people to apply for the show through its official casting platform.
The company said more details about the host, contestants, premiere date and other production updates will be announced closer to the release.
