The 18th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK) will be held in Thiruvananthapuram from October 2 to October 7, Kerala Tourism, Culture and Film Minister P C Vishnunath announced on today .
According to a PTI report, the six day festival will be organised at Kairali, Sree and Nila theatres in Thiruvananthapuram. According to the minister, preparations for the event are already underway to host filmmakers, cinema enthusiasts and audiences from across India and abroad.
The International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK) is one of the major platforms in India dedicated exclusively to documentaries and short films. It is the only international film festival in the country focused on these formats that is organised by a state government.
Over the years, IDSFFK has gained recognition for promoting innovative storytelling, socially relevant films and new voices in cinema. The festival provides an opportunity for emerging filmmakers to showcase their work alongside established creators from India and around the world.
The festival has also played an important role in encouraging documentary and short film culture by bringing together filmmakers, critics and audiences on a common platform.
