Over the years, IDSFFK has gained recognition for promoting innovative storytelling, socially relevant films and new voices in cinema. The festival provides an opportunity for emerging filmmakers to showcase their work alongside established creators from India and around the world.
The festival has also played an important role in encouraging documentary and short film culture by bringing together filmmakers, critics and audiences on a common platform.
