Prime Video has released the teaser trailer for ‘You+Me – Against the World’, the streaming platform’s adaptation of author Emma Green’s bestselling young adult trilogy, while announcing that the romantic drama will premiere globally on September 18.

The film, originally titled ‘Toi+Moi – Seuls Contre Tous’ in French, marks the first French young adult Prime Original film and will be available in more than 240 countries and territories.

According to a statement from the streamer yesterday, based on Green’s novels, which have sold nearly one million copies in France, the film follows Alma Lancaster, an 18-year-old from a wealthy family who secretly pursues her dream of becoming a filmmaker, while her family believes she is studying law.

At university, she crosses paths with Vadim Arcadi, a 20-year-old rebel haunted by a troubled past. The two are forced to work together on a student film, and their initial clashes gradually give way to romance. Their relationship, however, comes under threat as someone seeks to expose secrets that could destroy them both.

The film stars Vittoria Di Savoia as Alma and Lucas Barski as Vadim. It is directed by Manon Gaurin and written by Gaurin along with Eliane Vigneron and Alix Letribot. The production is backed by Originals by Trésor, a Trésor Films company.

With the teaser now out, Prime Video is positioning ‘You+Me – Against the World’ as a key addition to its expanding slate of young adult romantic stories. The release also notes that the film will debut ahead of the upcoming series ‘Campus Drivers’, which is expected to launch later this year.

The streamer highlighted its growing catalogue of young adult romance titles, including ‘Your Fault: London’, ‘Culpa Nuestra’ and ‘Love Me Love Me’, alongside the upcoming ‘You+Me – Against the World’, as it continues to expand its international original programming.
