ZEE TV is set to bring the auditions of its iconic singing reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ to the United Kingdom for the first time, offering aspiring singers in the country a chance to compete for a place on one of India’s most celebrated music platforms.
The auditions will be held in London on July 26, with registrations scheduled to begin at 10 am. Participants between the ages of 18 and 30 will be eligible to audition. Candidates who advance through the selection rounds will be required to travel to India for the subsequent stages of the competition.
The initiative marks a major expansion of the talent hunt for the long-running franchise, which has spent more than three decades discovering and nurturing singers who have gone on to build successful careers in the music industry. By extending auditions to the UK, the broadcaster is looking to tap into the country’s vibrant South Asian community, which has played a significant role in shaping the global South Asian music scene.
The upcoming season is expected to be among the most ambitious editions of the show to date. Producers have announced plans for a large-scale production featuring a live orchestra comprising more than 100 musicians, accompanied by a 100-member chorus, creating a grand musical setting for contestants competing on the national stage.
Commenting on the move, Amit Goenka, President – International and Digital Businesses at Zee Entertainment Enterprises, said the programme has spent decades celebrating musical talent from across the world and that the decision to hold auditions in the UK reflects the continued evolution of the franchise.
He noted that the UK has contributed significantly to the global South Asian music landscape and expressed confidence that the auditions would help discover fresh voices, compelling stories and exceptional performers capable of becoming part of the show’s next chapter.
Meanwhile, Parul Goel, Territory Head – Europe and Head Finance (Europe & Americas), described the initiative as a major milestone for the broadcaster’s international operations.
According to Goel, the UK is home to immense musical talent and a passionate South Asian audience. She said the auditions would serve as a bridge between the UK and India, giving aspiring singers an opportunity to showcase their abilities on one of the most recognised music reality platforms in the world.
To maximise participation and engagement, the audition drive will be supported through an extensive multi-platform campaign across ZEE TV, ZEE5, digital channels, social media platforms and community outreach programmes. Organisers also plan to document the journey through behind-the-scenes content, contestant stories and special features following participants from London to India.
For aspiring singers across the UK, the auditions present a rare opportunity to gain national and international exposure through a show that has become a household name among music lovers. With the franchise expanding its search beyond traditional boundaries, the next breakthrough voice of Indian music could well emerge from British shores.
