The future of the media industry will be shaped not by companies with the deepest pockets but by those with the strongest ideas, according to Rabindra Narayan, Founder, Managing Director and President of GTC Network, who outlined his long-term vision for the emerging media company in a LinkedIn post.

In remarks that reflect a philosophy of building for the next decade rather than chasing short-term gains, Narayan yesterday said technology and distribution platforms may continue to evolve, but the fundamentals of trust, storytelling and culture will remain the enduring pillars of successful media enterprises.

“The future of media will not belong to those with the biggest budgets. It will belong to those with the strongest ideas,” Narayan wrote, adding that while technology changes every year and platforms every few years, “trust, storytelling and culture never go out of fashion.”

He said GTC Network was focused on creating a future-ready media ecosystem anchored in legacy while embracing innovation.

“Every day at GTC Network, we are building for the next decade, not the next quarter. Legacy gives us roots. Innovation gives us wings. The journey has just begun,” he said.

The comments come at a time when the global media industry is undergoing rapid transformation driven by artificial intelligence, streaming platforms, changing audience behaviour and the convergence of broadcast and digital media.

Narayan’s remarks suggest that GTC Network intends to position itself as a long-term player that combines technological innovation with culturally rooted storytelling rather than pursuing scale for its own sake.

GTC Network was incorporated in August 2025 as Narayan’s new media venture after he stepped down from PTC Network, where he had served as Managing Director and President for nearly two decades.

The new company has positioned itself as an AI-first global media network with ambitions spanning linear television, OTT, connected TV (CTV), FAST channels and digital-first content, while seeking to connect Indian, particularly Punjabi, storytelling with audiences worldwide.

Narayan’s latest comments indicate that technology will continue to reshape media delivery.
