Telecom operator Vi (Vodafone Idea) has announced a strategic partnership with Spotify to offer its postpaid subscribers complimentary access to Spotify premium, strengthening its digital entertainment portfolio with premium music and podcast streaming benefits.
According to a Vi press release, the partnership, eligible Vi postpaid customers will receive three months of Spotify premium at no additional cost upon activating or retaining their connection. The offer is available starting today across select Vi Individual and Family postpaid plans.
The collaboration combines Vi’s connectivity services with Spotify’s premium audio streaming platform, allowing subscribers to access an ad-free listening experience, offline downloads, unlimited skips, high-quality audio streaming of up to 320 kbps, and access to more than 100 million songs and over seven million podcast titles.
Commenting on the partnership, Avneesh Khosla, Chief Marketing Officer, Vi, said music continues to play a central role in customers’ digital lives, adding that the collaboration with Spotify strengthens Vi’s entertainment ecosystem built through partnerships with global content platforms.
Amarjit Batra, Managing Director, Spotify India, described the alliance as Spotify’s first-of-its-kind telecom partnership in India. He said the initiative will make Spotify Premium more accessible to millions of music and podcast listeners while creating greater long-term value for artists, creators and the broader music industry.
The complimentary Spotify premium benefit will be available to eligible customers on Vi’s Individual postpaid plans priced at Rs.451, Rs.551, Rs.751 and Rs.1,201 (REDX), along with Family Postpaid plans priced at Rs.701/ Rs.751, Rs.871, Rs.1,201/ Rs.1,301, Rs.1,401/ Rs.1,526 and Rs.1,601 (REDX Family). For family plans, the benefit will be available to the primary member.
Eligible subscribers who are new to Spotify can activate the offer through the Vi App. After the complimentary three-month period ends, users can continue their Spotify premium subscription through Vi’s ‘Add to Bill’ facility at Rs.139 per month.
The partnership reflects Vi’s continued focus on enhancing customer value by bundling premium digital entertainment services with its telecom offerings, while helping Spotify expand the reach of its subscription service among Indian consumers.
