Tamil Nadu’s youngest GEC, Colors Tamil, announced the launch of its new show ‘Meera’.
Set in the backdrop of Chennai, ‘Meera’ revolves around the relationship of a husband and wife.
Packed with growing violence against women, the show narrates the life of Meera (essayed by Kushboo), and his husband (essayed by Suresh Menon) where she says that she does not want her children to normalize domestic violence.
The channel also initiated a unique Missed Call campaign recently showcasing a short clip of the promo, prompting people to share their thoughts on whether or not it is justified for a husband to hit his wife with a toll-free number.
Commenting on the launch, Rajaraman S, Business Head, Colors Tamil, said, “Following the successful launch of ‘Valli Thirumanam’ and ‘Namma Madurai Sisters’ and ‘Idhu Solla Marandha Kadhai’, we are elated to introduce yet another differentiated fiction show – ‘Meera’ during our prime time. The notion behind the show is to bring to light the trials and tribulations of certain sections of women that are less talked about.
The show will premiere on March 28, Monday to Saturday at 9:30 pm.
