ZEE5 has dropped the teaser of its upcoming original web series ‘Chhal Kapat: The Deception’, a gripping psychological thriller set to premiere this June. Promising a heady blend of suspense, secrets and betrayal, the show is directed by Ajay Bhuyan and produced by Juggernaut Productions.
According to a report by UNI, the narrative unfolds in the serene town of Burhanpur, where an intimate wedding celebration takes a sinister twist. What begins as a joyful gathering among old friends quickly descends into chaos when a close confidante of the bride is found dead under mysterious circumstances. The once-idyllic festivities are soon consumed by suspicion and buried truths.
Leading the cast is the talented Shriya Pilgaonkar, who steps into the role of Inspector Devika, a sharp, intuitive officer with a troubled past of her own. As the investigation gains momentum, Devika finds herself unravelling a tangled web of long-hidden secrets, simmering resentments, and veiled betrayals that threaten to destroy lifelong friendships.
The show also features a compelling ensemble cast including Kamya Ahlawat, Ragini Dwivedi, Tuhina Das, Yahweh Sharma, Pranay Pachauri, Smran Sahu and Anuj Sachdeva — all playing characters who appear perfectly polished on the surface, but harbour dark complexities beneath.
Set against the rich cultural backdrop of Burhanpur, ‘Chhal Kapat: The Deception’ promises to take viewers on an emotionally charged journey where the lines between trust and treachery blur. The teaser already hints at a moody, atmospheric narrative that combines edge-of-the-seat tension with intimate character drama.
As Inspector Devika digs deeper, each revelation threatens to topple the fragile balance between friendship and betrayal. With its layered storytelling and intriguing premise, ZEE5’s new original looks ready to hook audiences and keep them guessing till the very end.
