ZEE5 Global has promoted Parul Goel as Territory Head for the UK and Europe, entrusting him with the responsibility of driving the company’s next phase of growth across one of its most important international markets.
The elevation marks a significant milestone in Goel’s nearly two-decade-long journey with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. Having joined the company in 2007, he has played a pivotal role in expanding Zee’s presence across the UK and Europe, helping transform its regional operations into one of the largest South Asian entertainment networks in the region.
When Goel began his career with Zee, the company’s UK portfolio consisted of just two television channels. Over the years, he has been instrumental in growing the network to seven channels, while also contributing to the expansion of ZEE5’s digital footprint across multiple European markets.
Among his notable achievements was the launch of four Zee channels on Freeview Connected in 2023, making South Asian entertainment available free-to-air for households across the UK. He also spearheaded the introduction of FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television) channels on platforms such as Samsung TV Plus and Rakuten TV, making Zee the first South Asian broadcaster to enter the FAST ecosystem in Europe.
Goel has additionally led several localisation initiatives across key markets including Germany and France, helping the company connect with audiences beyond the traditional South Asian diaspora. His efforts have focused on broadening Zee’s reach through market-specific content strategies and strengthening audience engagement across diverse communities.
Over the years, he has also driven content and brand integration initiatives through Narrative Media and GR8 Media, while managing large-scale partnerships linked to marquee properties such as ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’.
In his new role, Goel will oversee strategic growth across the UK and Europe, focusing on audience expansion, strengthening distribution partnerships, accelerating digital growth and reinforcing Zee’s leadership position in South Asian entertainment across the region.
Commenting on his new responsibility, Goel described Europe as one of the most dynamic and culturally diverse markets for South Asian content.
“From expanding free-to-access television and FAST channels to strengthening ZEE5’s digital presence and investing in culturally resonant storytelling, our vision is to create a truly integrated entertainment experience for viewers across the region,” he said.
Launched in October 2018, ZEE5 Global is available in more than 190 countries and offers over 200,000 hours of on-demand content across 18 languages.
Goel’s elevation reflects Zee’s continued focus on strengthening its international business and leveraging experienced leadership to drive growth in global markets, particularly as digital consumption and demand for regional content continue to rise across Europe.
