Directed by Jai Basantu Singh, the show features a strong ensemble cast including Anshumaan Pushkar, Mahvash, Kumud Mishra, Upen Chauhan, Saddam Sophia Hussain, Atul Kusum Sanjay, and B Shantunu.
According to an ANI report, highlights the show’s intense and unconventional storyline, which delves into a world often overlooked in mainstream storytelling. Backed by producers Dilip Bachchan Jha and Ritesh Modi, the series is set to release on the platform soon.
‘Satrangi – Badle Ka Khel’ follows the story of Bablu Mahto, the son of a Launda dancer, who is forced by circumstances to step into his father’s role. What begins as reluctant acceptance gradually reveals a deeper, more personal conflict, as Bablu harbours a strong desire for justice against the influential Singh family. As he navigates societal stigma, complicated relationships, and his own inner turmoil, the narrative unfolds into a gripping tale of honour, love, and revenge.
Speaking about the project, Mahvash described the show as a refreshing departure from her previous work, noting that its gritty tone allowed her to explore a more intense and emotionally demanding space as a performer. She added that the experience of portraying such a raw and challenging character has been deeply rewarding.
Anshumaan Pushkar, who plays the lead, shared that stepping into the role of a Launda dancer was both challenging and enriching. He emphasised that the character comes from a world that is often misunderstood and judged, and portraying it with honesty and empathy required a more grounded, internalised performance. According to him, being part of such a distinct and unconventional story has been a fulfilling creative experience.
With its focus on a socially layered backdrop and emotionally complex characters, ‘Satrangi – Badle Ka Khel’ aims to offer viewers a story that goes beyond conventional drama, bringing to the forefront themes of identity, dignity, and the cost of vengeance.
