Zee Telugu has expanded its non-fiction slate with the announcement of a new dance reality show titled ‘Aata’, set to bring competitive energy and large-scale performances to weekend television. The show will premiere on February 7, 2026, at 9pm on Zee Telugu, while digital viewers will get early access on Zee5 from February 5 at 9pm, two days ahead of its television debut.
According to a press release from the channel, ‘Aata’ is designed as a high-octane format that combines performance-driven dance with strategy-led competition. Popular television anchor Sudheer will host the show, guiding viewers through intense bidding rounds, emotional journeys, and high-voltage performances that unfold on stage.
The show features four mentors — Kavya, Vishnupriya, Vamsi, and Sameera — who will compete with one another to select and train 16 promising dancers. Through a bidding-based selection process, the mentors will build their teams and groom contestants, adding an element of tactical gameplay to the traditional dance reality format. The competition is expected to highlight not just dance skills, but also mentorship dynamics and creative vision.
Adding gravitas to the format is a strong judging panel comprising veteran actress Radhika Sarathkumar, acclaimed choreographer Jani Master, and actress-producer Niharika Konidela. Together, the judges bring a mix of experience, technical expertise, and contemporary sensibility to evaluate performances and guide contestants through the competition.
The grand launch episode promises a visually rich opening, featuring performances choreographed to recent blockbuster songs such as ‘Suseki Aggipulla’, ‘Chuttumalle’, and ‘Gira Gira Gira’. Alongside the spectacle, the premiere will also focus on personal stories, including a heartfelt tribute performance by contestant Akshatha dedicated to host Sudheer, and the inspiring journey of Raptor Yuvraj, who steps into the spotlight as a contestant after working behind the scenes as a choreographer.
With its blend of dramatic bidding rounds, intense mentorship rivalries, and large-scale dance productions, ‘Aata’ is positioned as a family-friendly weekend entertainer. The show will air every Saturday and Sunday at 9pm on Zee Telugu, aiming to engage audiences with both emotion and spectacle.
