Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd has appointed Sangeeta Shetty as its Chief Compliance Officer and Company Secretary, effective November 2, 2026. Shetty will be based at the company’s Mumbai headquarters and report to Punit Goenka, Chief Executive Officer, overseeing governance, regulatory compliance and shareholder engagement.
The company’s Board approved Shetty’s appointment on October 30, following a recommendation from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. She succeeds Ashish Agarwal, whose resignation as Company Secretary and Compliance Officer took effect at the close of business on October 29.
Agarwal cited personal reasons for his departure. He had led Zee Entertainment’s secretarial function for more than seven years, contributing to the company’s corporate governance and compliance operations.
Shetty is a qualified Company Secretary and an Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). She brings more than two decades of experience in corporate governance, listed-company compliance, Board processes and capital-market transactions.
Before joining Zee Entertainment, Shetty was associated with Abbott India. Her previous professional experience also includes roles at Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance, Aditya Birla Money, Edelweiss Group, Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India (MSEI) and Angel One.
At Zee Entertainment, she will work closely with Goenka and the leadership team to strengthen governance standards, internal controls and risk management. Her responsibilities will include supporting the company’s regulatory compliance framework and shareholder engagement as it continues to pursue its strategic priorities.
Commenting on the appointment, Goenka said strengthening regulatory and risk management capabilities was important as the company continued to execute its strategic plans. He said Shetty’s extensive experience and understanding of the regulatory and business landscape would help strengthen the company’s resilience and institutional capabilities.
Goenka also thanked Agarwal for his contribution to the company and wished him success in his future endeavours.
Shetty said Zee Entertainment had consistently demonstrated a culture rooted in integrity, transparency and sound governance practices. She added that she looked forward to working with the leadership team to further strengthen the company’s compliance framework, support its long-term strategic objectives and create sustainable value for stakeholders.
The appointment comes as Zee Entertainment continues to focus on its governance and compliance framework, with Shetty taking charge of the function following Agarwal’s departure.
