YouTube is tightening its Community Guidelines to regulate violent gaming content, gambling videos, and casino-style games.
The platform has announced that beginning November 17, videos depicting realistic violence, gambling involving digital goods, or social casino games will face new age restrictions.
According to a report by The Business Standard, the move aims to bring YouTube’s Community Guidelines “in line with industry standards.” The platform clarified on its support page that videos showcasing “mass violence against non-combatants” or “torture” will now be age-restricted, meaning users below 18 or those not signed in will no longer have access to such content.
