YouTube, which is owned by Google, is said to be testing a new ‘play counts’ feature on its music streaming service YouTube Music.
Some Reddit users discovered the new feature while using both the Android app and the web player.
According to IANS, this feature displays the total number of plays a song has received from all users across the platform.
However, the feature is only available for tracks listed in the ‘Top songs’ section.
According to the report, the ‘play counts’ feature will be available to all users in the coming weeks.
YouTube introduced ‘podcasts’ in its Music app for users in the United States on Android, iOS, and the web in April. According to the company, all users will be able to listen to podcasts on-demand, offline, in the background, and while casting, as well as seamlessly switch between audio-video versions on YouTube Music.
