The state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) is preparing to offer 4G services, and work is underway to bring these services to consumers as soon as possible, said Minister of State for Communications Devusinh Chauhan yesterday.

The Minister also stated that India Post is considering a logistics partnership with the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).

Concerning obnoxious phone calls, the Minister stated that they are a “problem” and that much effort is being put into resolving the issue. With the approval of the Group of Ministers (GoM) for the deployment of 1 lakh (100,000) BSNL 4G sites, the Minister stated that 4G work is underway and that various sites have been identified, PTI reported from Mumbai.

He stated that the government is eager for the services to begin as soon as possible.

BSNL is bringing in indigenous 4G technology, which took some time, but the telecom corporation is now working hard to bring these services to consumers.

The minister was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event to announce a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for logistics services between India Post, CAIT, and Tripta Technologies.
