In a first-of-its-kind initiative, WinZO, India’s largest interactive entertainment platform, honoured 80 gaming content creators, 18 game developers, and students at the Creator’s Awards held during Startup Mahakumbh 2025 in New Delhi. Popular YouTuber and WinZO’s brand ambassador, Carry Minati, personally felicitated the winners, recognising their contribution to India’s rapidly growing gaming and content creation landscape.
The event, organized in collaboration with the Media and Entertainment Skills Council (MESC), awarded the winners with a ‘Skill India’ certificate, validating their skills and influence in the digital economy. This comes at a time when India’s creator economy has witnessed explosive growth—from 962,000 influencers in 2020 to over 4.06 million by 2024, according to the India Gaming Report 2025 by WinZO and the Interactive Entertainment and Innovation Council (IEIC).
The gaming-driven creator economy recorded a 213 percent growth between 2020 and 2022 alone, showcasing the rising demand for gaming-related content, tutorials, and strategy insights.
Key Highlights:
WinZO’s initiatives have generated over 100,000 direct and indirect gig jobs across India.
The platform supports content creation in regional languages like Konkani, Haryanvi, and Kutchi, making it accessible across diverse socio-economic groups.
Through the WinZO Superstar Initiative, over 75,000 influencers have found flexible income streams, with 20% filing income tax returns for the first time.
WinZO currently boasts 250 million registered users and processes over 5 billion monthly transactions.
Carry Minati, while congratulating the awardees, said, “Gaming is more than entertainment; it’s a thriving industry. Platforms like WinZO allow creators to build careers by monetizing their passion and engaging audiences globally.”
WinZO Co-founder Paavan Nanda added, “We aim to democratize digital entrepreneurship by enabling creators to thrive through direct monetization and performance-driven incentives.”
The event also witnessed the felicitation of winners of the Bharat Tech Triumph Program (BTTP). Launched in 2023, BTTP identifies innovators in gaming and interactive entertainment, offering exposure through events like GDC San Francisco and Startup Mahakumbh. The program continues to strengthen India’s presence in global gaming innovation.
