Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled its latest India original series, ‘Reality Ranis of the Jungle’, at a star-studded event in Mumbai. This innovative 10-episode reality show marks a significant milestone in Indian television by featuring an all-female cast for the first time. Hosted by Varun Sood, the series will air on Discovery Channel and discovery+ every Monday and Tuesday at 10:00 pm.
Reality Ranis of the Jungle follows twelve prominent reality stars, including Pavitra Punia, Eksha Kerung, and Bebika Dhurve, as they swap their luxurious lifestyles for an adventurous ‘off-grid’ experience in the wilderness. The show is adapted from Warner Bros.’ successful global format, Reality Queens of The Jungle, catering to the increasing appetite for reality television among Indian viewers.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Himalayan jungles, the contestants are divided into two teams, each led by elected leaders. Throughout their journey, they face physical and mental challenges, with winners gaining access to comforts such as gourmet meals and cozy accommodations. Those who falter must endure the harsh realities of jungle life, facing potential elimination. The ultimate survivor will be crowned the “Survival Rani,” recognizing her resilience and leadership.
Sai Abishek, Head of the Factual Lifestyle Cluster at Warner Bros. Discovery, South Asia, expressed the company’s commitment to delivering thrilling experiences to audiences, “As the category leader in the non-fiction content segment, we know our audiences have a strong appetite for adventure reality shows. Our fans trust us for authentic and thrilling experiences, and we are excited to elevate this connection with ‘Reality Ranis of the Jungle.’”
Varun Sood, the show’s host, highlighted the significance of showcasing female strength in such a unique environment, “I’m incredibly excited to see an all-female cast take on such a challenging environment. The strength and resilience they display in the wild is truly inspiring.” He added that this experience, coupled with personal interactions with the contestants, aims to resonate with viewers.
Produced by Banijay Asia, a leading production house in India, the show is directed by Tarun Panjwani, known for his expertise in reality programming. Rishi Negi, Group Chief Operating Officer at Banijay Asia & Endemol Shine India, emphasized the show’s potential to redefine entertainment, “With Reality Ranis of the Jungle, we’re introducing an exciting new international format to India, where 12 popular Indian reality queens will compete for survival in a jungle.”
The show is brought to audiences by Brooke Bond Red Label Natural Care and is co-powered by PolicyBazaar.com, Harpic, and Mountain Dew. Reality Ranis of the Jungle promises to deliver a thrilling viewing experience while showcasing the strength, courage, and camaraderie of these remarkable women.
As Warner Bros. Discovery continues to push boundaries in Indian entertainment, this series aims to engage viewers nationwide, providing not only entertainment but also inspiration through the stories and challenges faced by its contestants.
