Vivek Raina has stepped down from his leadership role at Excitel Broadband, the company he co-founded and led for more than a decade, according to an update shared through his LinkedIn profile. The development marks a significant transition for the broadband service provider, which has expanded rapidly since its inception.
In his post, Raina described his tenure at Excitel as an “incredible journey”, reflecting on the company’s growth from the ground up. Under his leadership, the firm built an extensive fibre network serving nearly one million users, partnered with thousands of local and regional operators, and established a presence across more than 50 cities in India.
He said the transition comes at an appropriate time, expressing confidence that the founders’ vision and the operational capabilities of the younger management will drive the company’s next phase of growth. While stepping away from day-to-day responsibilities, Raina will continue to remain associated with the organisation as a shareholder.
Looking ahead, he indicated plans to take a short break before focusing on building new business ventures and supporting emerging entrepreneurs. He also noted his involvement with Launchpad Kashmir, where he serves as co-founder and mentor to foster young talent and encourage innovation.
Raina’s professional journey in the telecom and broadband sector spans more than two decades. Before founding Excitel Broadband in 2015, he held leadership roles at Digicable Network India Pvt Ltd, Hathway Cable & Datacom Ltd and Reliance Communications, gaining experience in broadband rollout, sales, and business development across the country.
The leadership change signals a new chapter for Excitel Broadband as it looks to strengthen its market position and expand its digital connectivity offerings in India’s competitive internet services sector.
