Emmy-winning stand-up comedian Vir Das is set to collaborate with Netflix for an upcoming comedy special, as announced by the streaming giant on Wednesday. The globally celebrated comedian plans to film his latest show on October 19 at the DOME NSCI SVP Stadium in Mumbai, PTI reported from Mumbai.
In a social media post, Netflix expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “It’s official! After winning hearts, smiles, and an International Emmy, Vir Das is coming back to Netflix with an exciting comedy special and we’re here for it.”
In 2023, Das achieved a significant milestone by winning the International Emmy Award for Best Comedy Series for his Netflix special Vir Das: Landing. This acclaimed performance showcased his sharp observational comedy and provided a unique perspective on global cultural dynamics. His Emmy win not only solidified his status on the international stage but also set the stage for him to make history as the host of the International Emmy Awards ceremony in 2024.
