Telcom service provider Vodafone Idea (Vi) has announced a partnership with SonyLIV, the video streaming platform from Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI), to offer premium content services.
Vi has introduced a new add-on recharge of Rs 82, which will provide a free mobile-only subscription of SonyLIV Premium for 28 days along with an added data benefit of 4GB with 14-day validity, the company said in a statement Monday.
“The new proposition will enable all Vi prepaid users to enjoy SonyLIV Premium without having to worry about data quota,” the company said.
This is the latest in the telco’s efforts to provide engagement touchpoints through entertainment. Vi houses a range of entertainment services on its app under the Vi Play feature. The app boasts 60,000 hours of full-length movies and a variety of Indian and international shows. Additionally, Vi Play also has streams from news channels in Hindi, English, and other Indian languages.
The content offered through this association will include sports properties like UEFA Champions League, WWE, Bundesliga, and UFC. In addition, the platform will also give Vi users access to its original portfolio including titles like ‘Scam 1992 – The Harshad Mehta Story’, ‘Maharani’, ‘Tabbar’, ‘Rocket Boys’, and ‘Gullak Season 3’.
Apart from Indian originals, the content library will include international shows like ‘The Good Doctor’, ‘Fantasy Island’ and ‘Magpie Murders’.
