VETO, the subscription-free OTT platform, has announced the launch of the ‘VETO Sports Carnival’, offering more than 300 hours of live sports streaming across cricket, football, weightlifting and tennis during the festive season.
The initiative brings five sporting properties to the platform, including international cricket fixtures, the IWF World Senior Championships, the SAFF Championship, Billie Jean King Cup Play-offs and Davis Cup Finals. The move marks an expansion of VETO’s live sports portfolio as it looks to attract audiences with a wider range of sporting content.
The sports calendar begins with an international ODI tri-series scheduled from October 18 to 31, followed by Test matches from November 9–13 and November 17–21. The IWF World Senior Championships will take place from October 27 to November 8, while the SAFF Championship is scheduled for November 5–17.
Tennis will complete the line-up, with the Billie Jean King Cup Play-offs scheduled from November 20 to 22, followed by the Davis Cup Finals from November 24 to 29. The schedule offers viewers a sustained run of international sporting events across October and November.
The initiative builds on VETO’s earlier acquisition of the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup rights, extending its presence across multiple sporting disciplines. By bringing cricket, football, weightlifting and tennis together, the platform aims to make live sports a more prominent part of its content offering.
Timed around India’s festive season, including Dussehra, Diwali and Chhath Puja, the Sports Carnival is designed to offer viewers a diverse schedule of live events during October and November. VETO’s subscription-free model is intended to make the sporting action accessible to audiences without requiring a paid subscription.
Beyond live sports, VETO offers more than 60 live TV channels across 12 languages and over 10 genres, including news, movies, music, entertainment, children’s programming, infotainment and devotional content. The addition of the sports line-up complements its broader offering as a family-focused, connected TV (CTV)-oriented platform.
Commenting on the launch, Ritu Dhawan, Managing Director of VETO OTT, said live sports create shared experiences, encourage appointment viewing and help build lasting connections between audiences and platforms. She added that the Sports Carnival reflects VETO’s commitment to making diverse sporting properties accessible through its subscription-free offering while establishing live sports as an integral part of its content strategy.
With the VETO Sports Carnival, the platform is expanding its live sports catalogue while strengthening its positioning as a subscription-free destination for sports and entertainment, particularly for large-screen viewing.
