Malayalam psychological thriller ‘Aasha’, starring Urvashi, will premiere on Malayalam Zee5 on October 16.Directed by debutant filmmaker Safar Sanal and produced by Vinayaka Ajith, the film was released in theatres on September 11. It will also be available in dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
According to a Zee5 press release today, the film also features Joju George, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Vijayaraghavan, Lakshmi Menon, Bhagyalakshmi and Ajayan Adat in key roles.
‘Aasha’ follows a widowed mother who finds herself in an unexpected situation after a road accident brings her into conflict with Jeemon, played by Joju George. As events unfold, her efforts to protect her daughters lead to consequences that affect everyone involved.
The thriller explores motherhood, morality, fear, pride and anger, while examining how seemingly small decisions can have far-reaching consequences. Based on the idea of the butterfly effect, the film looks at how one incident can change several lives. Rather than clearly dividing its characters into heroes and villains, it encourages viewers to consider the circumstances behind their actions.
Lloyd C Xavier, Business Head – Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam at Zee5, said the platform aims to bring audiences films that offer fresh perspectives and unconventional storytelling. He also praised Urvashi’s performance, saying it brings depth to the film’s central character.’Aasha’ will begin streaming on Malayalam Zee5 on October 16.
