The makers of director Geethu Mohandas’s eagerly awaited action entertainer ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’ on Friday unveiled a gritty and intense teaser of the film, offering audiences a glimpse into its expansive cinematic world and the dramatic transformation of its lead star.
According to a UNI report, the teaser introduces a massive universe that is both vibrant and brutal, shifting from a circus setting to an East Asian-inspired backdrop. The narrative appears to span multiple time periods, unfolding within a dark and edgy atmosphere. Despite its high-octane visuals and intense action, the teaser hints at a strong emphasis on storytelling and powerful performances at the core of the film.
At the centre of the film is Yash, popularly known as Rocking Star, who undergoes a remarkable physical and dramatic transformation. The teaser showcases the actor in a range of appearances — from a lean, agile figure to a formidable, battle-hardened persona — reflecting rigorous preparation and discipline. Beyond the physical change, the actor brings distinct body language and sharp mannerisms to each look, suggesting a layered performance that marks a significant departure from his earlier roles.
The film also features a strong ensemble cast, with Nayanthara playing Ganga, Kiara Advani as Nadia, Huma Qureshi portraying Elizabeth, Rukmini Vasanth as Mellisa, and Tara Sutaria appearing as Rebecca.
Written by Yash and Geethu Mohandas and directed by Mohandas, the film has been simultaneously shot in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, among other languages. ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’ is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on March 19, promising audiences a visually immersive and action-packed cinematic experience.
