The critically acclaimed series ‘The Bear’ is set to come to an end, with its upcoming fifth season marking the final chapter of the popular show from FX. The Emmy-winning drama, which has built a strong following since its debut, is currently filming in and around Chicago and is expected to premiere later this year on Hulu.
According to a PTI report, the confirmation about the show nearing its conclusion came from Jamie Lee Curtis, who won an Emmy Award for portraying Donna Berzatto in the series. Curtis plays the complicated and emotionally intense mother of Carmy and Natalie, characters portrayed by Jeremy Allen White and Abby Elliott respectively.
Since its launch, ‘The Bear’ has been widely praised for its sharp writing, strong performances and authentic depiction of the high-pressure world inside a restaurant kitchen. The series follows Carmy, a talented chef who returns to his hometown of Chicago to run his family’s struggling sandwich shop, navigating both professional challenges and personal relationships along the way.
Over its run, the show has become one of FX’s most talked-about titles, earning multiple awards and critical recognition. Curtis’s portrayal of Donna Berzatto, particularly in emotionally charged episodes, has been singled out for acclaim and earned her the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.
With production underway on the fifth season, the creators are now preparing to bring the story to a close. While further details about the final season’s storyline remain under wraps, the upcoming instalment is expected to tie together the personal and professional journeys of the characters that audiences have followed closely over the years.
In India, ‘The Bear’ streams on JioHotstar.
