Mumbai based ISP Syscon Infoway has entered the Netflix ISP Speed Index list for India region in the month of August, having been categorised in the No. 2 slot with some other fellow ISPs with a speed of 3.2 Mbps.

Faster Netflix performance generally means better picture quality, quicker start times and fewer interruptions.

Netherlands’ Caiway saw an increase of 0.4 Mbps to 3.4 Mbps. This was an improvement from last month’s performance, where Caiway dropped by 0.6 Mbps to 3 Mbps. The Netherlands also saw its overall country speed average increase by 0.2 Mbps from 3.4 Mbps to 3.6 Mbps.

Elsewhere in the world, seven ISPs saw drops of 0.2 Mbps with five ISPs across regions reporting the same speed decrease, Netflix said.

Israel’s Triple C, Japan’s VECTANT, and Philippines Royal Cable dropped from 3 Mbps to 2.8 Mbps. Spain’s Telefonica-Movistar and Vietnam’s Saigontourist Cable Television decreased from 3.2 Mbps to 3 Mbps.

However, Vietnam’s overall country speed average increased by 0.2 Mbps to 3.4 Mbps from 3.2 Mbps.

Four countries were in the top performance tier in August. Hong Kong, Netherlands, Singapore and Switzerland all registered an average speed of 3.6 Mbps.
