National Award-winning filmmaker Sudhanshu Saria is set to introduce two emerging directors in Bollywood under his banner Four Line Films, with upcoming projects ‘Pech’ and ‘Silverfish’. The move reflects a focused effort to support fresh voices and unconventional storytelling in the industry.
According to a UNI report, Saria said the initiative began nearly three years ago as a deliberate attempt to discover and nurture new talent. He noted that the early years in filmmaking can be isolating, and through these projects, he aims to create space for bold, original narratives that feel personal and distinct. Both films are helmed by first-time directors, marking a significant step in their creative journeys.
‘Pech’, written and directed by Kumar Chheda, is a young adult film that explores themes of class and marginalisation in Mumbai. The project has already gained international attention, debuting at the Bangkok International Film Festival’s Pitch Market, where it won the jury prize. It has since drawn interest from global co-producers and sales agents, with discussions underway across multiple territories. Chheda had earlier written the National Award-winning short film ‘Daal Bhaat’, and ‘Pech’ will mark his feature film debut.
The second project, Silverfish, is co-written by Saria and will mark the feature directorial debut of Raj Krishna. Set in Silicon Valley, the film is described as a gory creature feature and has already made its presence felt on the festival circuit. It debuted at the Pitch Market at the Tasveer Film Festival last year and has now been selected for the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles, where it will be showcased to the industry.
Saria and Krishna are expected to be present at the Los Angeles screening, further positioning the project on an international stage. Krishna’s earlier short-format psychological thriller ‘Padmavyuh’, starring Javed Jaffrey, premiered at the International Indian Film Festival of Toronto, adding to his growing body of work.
With ‘Pech’ and ‘Silverfish’, Saria’s Four Line Films is clearly aiming to back stories that break away from mainstream formulas, while providing a platform for new filmmakers to bring their vision to life.
