The recently released Prime original film ‘Subedaar’ has taken Indian storytelling to a global stage with a striking showcase at Times Square.
The action-drama, headlined by Anil Kapoor, lit up the iconic digital billboards at the world-famous commercial intersection, marking a proud moment for the film as well as for Indian cinema.
According to a Prime Video press release, the larger-than-life display at Times Square celebrates the film’s global reach following its recent premiere. Known for hosting some of the biggest international entertainment campaigns and blockbuster promotions, Times Square has long been considered one of the most coveted platforms for global launches, making ‘Subedaar’s presence there a significant milestone for Indian storytelling.
The film has been drawing attention for its powerful performances and intense narrative. Positioned as a gritty and emotionally charged action drama, ‘Subedaar’ follows the journey of Subedaar Arjun Maurya, a retired soldier whose quiet civilian life is abruptly disrupted by a reckless act. As circumstances spiral into chaos, he is forced to confront crime, corruption and moral dilemmas while trying to protect his family and reclaim his honour.
Directed by Suresh Triveni, the film is produced by Vikram Malhotra, Anil Kapoor and Suresh Triveni. The cast also features Radhikka Madan alongside Saurabh Shukla, Aditya Rawal, Faisal Malik, Mona Singh and Khushboo Sundar in pivotal roles.
‘Subedaar’ premiered exclusively on Prime Video on March 5 and is available in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The film has been released across India as well as in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, expanding its reach to international audiences.
With the film lighting up Times Square, the global showcase highlights the growing presence of Indian content on international platforms. The makers say more moments around the movie are expected to unfold in the coming weeks as the film continues its worldwide run.
