The latest television ratings are in, and STAR Utsav has emerged as the most-watched TV channel in India for the week spanning Saturday, May 24 to Friday, May 30, 2025. With a weekly Average Minute Audience (AMA) of 2587.72 (in thousands), the Hindi general entertainment channel has taken the top spot across all platforms and demographics, reaffirming its enduring popularity among Indian audiences.
According to BARC India, the top ten most-watched channels in All India (2+ age group) indicate a healthy mix of general entertainment, sports, and regional programming, showcasing the broad spectrum of viewer preferences across the country. STAR Maa followed closely in second place with a weekly AMA of 2365.4, while STAR Sports 1 Hindi, riding high on live cricket and sporting content, came in third with 2358.4 AMA’000.
STAR Plus and Sun TV secured the fourth and fifth spots with AMA figures of 2068.68 and 2001.68 respectively, proving that established content and regional powerhouses still command loyal viewership. SONY SAB, known for its light-hearted family programming, stood at sixth place with 1844.14 AMA’000, while movie channel Goldmines continued to enjoy significant traction with 1712.14 AMA’000.
Regional content continues to thrive, as evident from Zee Telugu’s placement at eighth with 1613.6 AMA, while Colors and Dangal rounded off the list with 1572.9 and 1541.97 AMA’000 respectively. The data reflects a viewer base that is increasingly diverse in its tastes but continues to gravitate towards familiar storytelling formats, regional narratives, and high-impact sports coverage.
As the industry navigates a dynamic content landscape driven by changing audience habits, digital growth, and high-stakes programming, broadcasters like STAR and Sun TV networks continue to prove that strategic content curation across genres and languages can still hold mass appeal in India’s complex television ecosystem.
