Indian cricket has paved the way for a new generation of female heroes who have been instrumental in bringing glory to India in recent years.
With the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 approaching, cricket fans of all ages, young and old, have found idols in these female superstars and are ready to support the Indian women’s team in their journey.
Star Sports, the official broadcaster of the marquee ICC event, has launched a promo that recognizes the presence of a new brand of cricket and its heroes, emphasizing the significance of this journey.
The promo, created and conceptualized by the Disney Star in-house team, informs viewers and fans that a new wave of intense, engaging, and dynamic cricket has emerged, and riding on this new wave is the India Women’s team, who have made enormous strides in their cricketing prowess, The Economic Times reported.
The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup presents the Indian team with its most difficult challenge yet: bringing home an ICC trophy for the first time, thus making history and changing it to ‘Her Story’.
The India Women’s team enters the competition as a strong contender and will face England, Ireland, Pakistan, and the West Indies in the group stages. India had a strong campaign in the previous World Cup, reaching the final and narrowly losing to Australia.
