‘Everything, Everywhere, All at Once’ (EEAAO) had a big night at the 95th Academy Awards after wooing audiences around the world with its incredible story and performances since its release.
The film won a total of seven Oscars, making it the night’s clear winner and one of the most awarded films. In India, the film is available exclusively on Sony LIV.
The multiverse madness comedy-drama received 11 nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director (Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan), Lead Actress (Michelle Yeoh), Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis), Best Original Screenplay (the Daniels), and Best Film Editing (Paul Rogers).
Because of its Asian-American themes and predominantly Asian cast, the landmark film is a breakthrough for Hollywood diversity.
The film follows Michelle Yeoh’s Evelyn, a laundromat owner who attempts to save the multiverse from its greatest threat with the help of parallel universe versions of herself. Evelyn is dealing with her shaky laundromat business, her marriage to a whiny husband, Waymond (Ke Huy Quan), and broken relationships with her judgmental father (James Hong) and her daughter Joy (Stephanie Hsu), all while preparing for the impersonal IRS auditor, Deirdre, played by Jamie Lee Cutis.
‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ beat out Steven Spielberg’s ‘The Fabelmans’, Cate Blanchett’s ‘Tár’, and the German war drama ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ as this year’s Oscar nominees.
Other notable wins for the film include a BAFTA, five Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and four Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.
In India, this action, adventure, comedy, fantasy and sci-fi film is streaming on Sony LIV.
