NODWIN Gaming has announced a major distribution partnership with Sony LIV, giving the OTT platform exclusive Hindi and English streaming rights to the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 for select matches.
As part of this deal, Sony LIV will begin streaming the tournament from July 24, starting with chess in Hindi, followed by BGMI matches on July 25. Matches will feature India’s own Aryan x TMG Gaming (AxTMG), who recently earned their spot by winning BMPS 2025. Other major titles like Tekken 8 will join the stream lineup from August 13.
Sony LIV will also roll out exclusive weekly shows, behind-the-scenes footage, and player interactions, providing fans with a richer and more immersive experience. The Hindi-language content will be available exclusively on Sony LIV’s app and official website, with premium English content further expanding its reach.
This collaboration builds on NODWIN’s recent alliance with the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF), where NODWIN was appointed as the strategic partner for media rights and regional distribution across South Asia.
Akshat Rathee, Co-Founder and Managing Director of NODWIN Gaming, expressed his excitement,“Our goal is to bring the Esports World Cup to as many passionate fans across South Asia as possible, and this partnership with Sony LIV is a major step in that direction. It combines Sony LIV’s incredible reach with NODWIN’s focus on building localized, fan-first esports experiences.”
The Esports World Cup 2025, hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is already making waves globally with a record-breaking $70.45 million prize pool (approx.
Rs.600 crore) and participation from elite esports clubs and players from around the world.
India’s presence at this global showdown is historic. In BGMI, Team AxTMG will represent the nation, while in chess, India is sending its strongest-ever esports lineup.
Among the qualified players is Grandmaster Arjun Erigaisi, the first Indian to qualify for EWC 2025 chess, competing under Gen.G Esports. He’s joined by a formidable group:
R Praggnanandhaa (India Rank: 1, World Rank: 4)
Aravindh Chithambaram (India Rank: 4, World Rank: 11)
Vidit Gujrathi (India Rank: 6, World Rank: 26)
Nihal Sarin (India Rank: 8, World Rank: 40)
These top-tier Grandmasters will play for India’s homegrown esports powerhouse, Team S8UL. Adding to the excitement is rising chess prodigy Aarav Dengla, further strengthening India’s standing in the tournament.
The synergy between Sony LIV and NODWIN aims to not only showcase India’s talent but also grow the regional esports ecosystem, making the content more inclusive, accessible, and locally relevant.
As the tournament approaches, fans across the country are gearing up to support their favourite teams and players, setting the stage for what could be a watershed moment for Indian esports on the global stage.
