Sony YAY! continues to dominate the kids’ entertainment space this summer, strengthening its leadership with an unbeatable mix of beloved characters, dynamic content, and engaging experiences for children and families across India. The channel, known for its vibrant storytelling and fresh programming, has captured young hearts once again, topping the viewership charts during the summer break.
As per a press release issued on Sunday, Sony YAY! has witnessed significant traction owing to a compelling line-up of shows that span genres like action, comedy, adventure, and slice-of-life. Popular homegrown titles such as ‘Oggy and the Cockroaches’ and ‘Honey Bunny’ have remained consistent favourites. At the same time, the channel’s flagship summer campaign, which included the premiere of never-seen-before ‘Shin Chan’ episodes, added fresh excitement and further deepened its bond with young audiences.
The strategy of rolling out new content across multiple platforms television, digital, and on-ground has resulted in impressive audience engagement. ‘Shin Chan’, in particular, continues to enjoy immense love from fans, and the new episodes have only solidified his place in the hearts of Indian children.
Taking things a notch higher, Sony YAY! has also tapped into the growing popularity of anime in India. Its late-night anime block from 9pm to midnight has seen phenomenal success, featuring fan-favourite titles such as ‘Naruto’, ‘Naruto Shippuden’, and the latest addition ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’. With the introduction of new episodes of ‘Naruto Shippuden’, the channel has managed to carve out a niche time slot that has now taken the lead with an 18% share in its segment.
The network isn’t stopping there. More entertainment is on the way, including the highly anticipated ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ movie and the launch of ‘Dr. Stone’. On-ground activities like The Giant Wheel Festival are also contributing to deeper brand connect with children and their families, keeping the engagement going beyond screens.
Speaking on the channel’s success, Ambesh Tiwari, Business Head, SPNI Kids & Animation, said, “Our endeavour has always been to create the right mix of content and characters that forge a strong connection with our audience. Today, we are seeing this vision bear fruits as we become the leader in the category and continue to build lasting bonds and unforgettable experiences.”
Sony YAY!, a part of Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited (formerly known as Sony Pictures Networks India), has grown into one of the most trusted names in the Indian kids’ entertainment landscape. The network’s ability to evolve with audience preferences and constantly innovate its programming has ensured its continued dominance — and the road ahead looks even more promising.
