Sony Marathi has unveiled the world’s first AI-based television serial, ‘Tu Bhetashi Navane,’ sparking curiosity and excitement among viewers about the integration of artificial intelligence in television storytelling.
Ajay Bhalwankar, Business Head of Sony Marathi, expressed enthusiasm for the groundbreaking project, stating, “A similar experiment of AI is being done on the occasion of ‘Tu Bhetashi Navane’ series, and this experiment has not only been done for the use of technology, but it will also see the hard work of the creative team. We have strictly followed that the story of the series should be as strong as the technology.”
Soha Kulkarni, Head of Fiction at Sony Marathi, added, “The show is a mix of different stories and cutting-edge technology that will entertain the audience.”
‘Tu Bhetashi Navane’ revolves around the unforgettable first love between Mahi and Gauri, depicted in two different styles. Subodh Bhave, one of the lead actors, expressed his excitement about the project: “It is indeed a pleasure for me to work in a series based on AI for the first time.” His co-star, Shivani Sonar, shared her feelings, saying she is both happy and nervous about working with Subodh Bhave.
The series marks the return of Subodh Bhave to the small screen, where he plays a dual role: a college professor named Abhimanyu and a young Mahi, separated by an age difference of around 20-25 years. Shivani Sonar stars as Gauri. The characters from two different eras and the memories of the nineties will be brought to life using AI technology.
The show is directed and produced by Ajay Mayekar, with Sandeep Jadhav as the co-producer. Dr. Pankaj Wasnik, who manages all AI functions from Sony Research India, Bangalore lab, is the producer behind the innovative use of AI in the series.
‘Tu Bhetashi Navane’ promises to be a unique blend of technology and storytelling, offering viewers a novel experience on the small screen. The show is set to explore new horizons in television entertainment, marking a significant milestone in the integration of AI with creative content.
