In a move that is sure to delight fans of J-Pop and travel content alike, Nippon TV has officially announced the launch of its brand-new travel reality series Traveling with Snow Man, set to premiere on Sunday, July 27, at 4.25 pm on Nippon TV in Japan. The series, featuring the wildly popular nine-member boy band Snow Man, will also be available globally, with an uncut version — featuring exclusive scenes — streaming on Disney+ immediately after the television broadcast.
According to a Nippon TV press release, Traveling with Snow Man marks a historic first: it is the first-ever unscripted travel show from Japan to debut on Disney+ worldwide. Comprising 10 episodes of 22 minutes each, the series is produced by Nippon TV and is part of the ongoing successful collaboration between Nippon TV Holdings Inc. and The Walt Disney Company (Japan) Ltd.
Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Japan — from the tropical coasts of Okinawa to the scenic landscapes of Hokkaido — the show follows Snow Man on a Northbound journey across the country. Along the way, the members immerse themselves in local culture, indulge in regional delicacies, meet residents, and share heartfelt moments of camaraderie and self-reflection. Each episode promises a mix of fun, food, discovery, and emotional connections as the band embraces the spirit of travel and teamwork.
Adding a modern twist to the adventure is ‘Tabi,’ an AI-style robot who accompanies Snow Man throughout their journey, offering cheeky commentary and capturing candid moments as the group’s honorary 10th member.
Producer and Director Takashi Kato shared his excitement: “We are deeply honored to announce that the uncut version of ‘Traveling with Snow Man’, with additional scenes, will be streamed globally on Disney+, allowing audiences around the world to enjoy it immediately after broadcasting in Japan. What stood out to me in our conversations with the group is their deep passion for their work and the strong bond they share. This series captures all of that and more.”
The show’s central theme, ‘One for Snow Man, Snow Man for One,’ highlights the group’s focus on individual contribution and collective strength. The premiere episode kicks off in Okinawa, where viewers will see the members go shopping, enjoy a scenic drive, and wind down with a vibrant seaside barbecue. The episode also teases a surprise gift — a moment that promises to tug at the audience’s heartstrings.
The announcement was accompanied by a vibrant key visual showing the group enjoying the Okinawan coastline, hinting at the colorful, emotionally rich journey ahead.
With its mix of light-hearted adventure, emotional depth, and the unmistakable charm of ‘Snow Man, Traveling with Snow Man’ is poised to become a must-watch series — both in Japan and across international markets.
