Shilpa Sharda has joined Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios as Head of Music, bringing with her nearly two decades of experience across the music, media and entertainment industries.
According to a report by Indiamarket, Sharda takes on the new role after a long stint at Believe, where she spent more than 12 years in various leadership positions. Most recently, she served as Director – Artist Services and M&A Labels for Believe India and South Asia.
During her tenure at Believe, Sharda worked across several key business areas, including artist services, label management, business development and strategic partnerships. Her responsibilities also extended to artist management, brand partnerships, sync and licensing, catalogue acquisitions, OTT and digital music, marketing services, imprint launches, business operations and market expansion.
Before joining Believe, Sharda was associated with Deezer, where she played a role in the launch of the global music streaming platform in India. Her work focused on Indian content programming, label and artist partnerships, as well as marketing collaborations aimed at strengthening the platform’s presence in the country.
Earlier in her career, she worked with T-Series, handling social media marketing, digital content distribution, radio promotions and artist management. She also gained experience in broadcast media, serving as a Broadcast Journalist at MH1 and as an Assistant Producer at 24 Frames.
Sharda’s appointment comes as Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios continue to expand their investment in original films, series and music-led content in India. With extensive experience spanning artist relations, digital music, content strategy and business development, she is expected to play a key role in shaping the music strategy for the platforms’ growing entertainment slate.
