Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has revealed a dark and intense first look from filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming film ‘O’ Romeo’, giving audiences a glimpse into what appears to be one of his most violent and brooding avatars yet. The film is slated for a theatrical release on February 13.
The first look, unveiled by the makers yesterday, presents Kapoor in a raw, aggressive and battle-hardened form, hinting at a gritty narrative rooted in action and emotional conflict. The visuals have sparked strong interest among fans, especially given the actor’s past success with intense roles under Bhardwaj’s direction, PTI reported from Mumbai.
‘O’ Romeo’ also stars Triptii Dimri in a key role, marking her first collaboration with the acclaimed filmmaker. While details about her character remain under wraps, her presence adds to the intrigue surrounding the project, which is being positioned as a high-octane action thriller.
The film marks the fourth collaboration between Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj, a director-actor pairing that has previously delivered critically acclaimed films such as ‘Kaminey’, ‘Haider’ and ‘Rangoon’. Over the years, the duo has been known for exploring complex characters and unconventional storytelling, raising expectations from their latest outing.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, ‘O’ Romeo’ is expected to blend Bhardwaj’s signature dark storytelling with stylised action. With its Valentine’s Day release locked in, the film is set to offer audiences a starkly intense alternative to the usual romantic fare associated with the date.
