Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has appointed senior journalist Gaurav Laghate as its new Head of Public Relations and Corporate Communications, effective September 2025.
In his new role, Laghate will spearhead the company’s communications strategy with a sharp focus on strengthening corporate reputation and stakeholder engagement across SPNI’s businesses. He will report directly to Gaurav Banerjee, Managing Director and CEO, SPNI.
According to a press release, Laghate brings with him over 17 years of experience in journalism, having built a reputation for shaping high-impact narratives in the media and entertainment space. Most recently, he served as Senior Editor and Head of the Consumer Bureau at Mint, where he extensively covered the media and entertainment sector across linear television and OTT platforms, as well as regulatory affairs and the advertising industry.
With a deep understanding of the sector and a strong professional network, Laghate is expected to play a key role in shaping SPNI’s communications in an evolving media landscape. The company said his appointment underscores its commitment to authentic storytelling and building greater trust with stakeholders as it moves into its next growth phase.
