Samsung TV Plus has launched Kings of Comedy, a new premium comedy channel that brings together some of India’s most popular primetime shows on a single platform, available free of cost to users. The channel is exclusively accessible on Samsung TV Plus, offering back-to-back Hindi comedy hits such as ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’, ‘Khatra Khatra Khatra’, and ‘Comedy Nights Bachao’, without any login or subscription requirement.
According to a Samsung TV Plus press release, the launch marks a significant step in expanding free streaming options in India. For the first time, audiences can access these well-known shows through a dedicated channel, available directly on their Samsung Smart TV home screens, making content discovery and viewing more seamless.
The introduction of Kings of Comedy also coincides with Samsung TV Plus India completing five years in the country. During this period, the service has recorded a 42 per cent growth in monthly active users, while total viewing hours have more than doubled. The platform now offers over 180 free channels across 14 languages, covering categories such as news, movies, entertainment, and infotainment. With this new launch, the company is making one of its strongest pushes yet into Hindi general entertainment.
Commenting on the development, Kunal Mehta, General Manager and Head of Business Development at Samsung TV Plus India, said comedy continues to be central to Hindi entertainment, and the new channel is designed to bring familiar, loved content to audiences without any barriers. He emphasised that the platform’s focus remains on simplifying access—eliminating subscriptions and friction to deliver an easy television experience.
Samsung TV Plus India’s growth reflects its global trajectory as well. The service has recently crossed 100 million monthly active users worldwide, with access to more than 4,500 channels, strengthening its position among leading free streaming platforms globally.
With Kings of Comedy now live, Samsung TV Plus is looking to deepen viewer engagement by combining nostalgia-driven content with the convenience of free, always-on streaming for millions of Samsung Smart TV users across India.
