Samsung India has unveiled the ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ documentary, a compelling showcase of young innovators tackling some of India’s most pressing social challenges.
Premiering on JioHotstar in celebration of National Science Day, the documentary follows the journeys of Team Eco Tech Innovator and Team METAL, two winning teams of Samsung’s STEM-based innovation competition, as they develop groundbreaking solutions to combat arsenic contamination in water.
The ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ initiative is Samsung’s flagship CSR program, designed to nurture problem-solving skills and create an innovation ecosystem among young minds across India. The program has expanded its reach to include participants from the most remote regions of the country, bringing forward solutions that impact local communities.
The 40-minute documentary follows these young innovators back to their roots, capturing their struggles, triumphs, and the real-world impact of their work. It showcases:
The development process of their solutions, including graphic explainers of their filtration technologies.
First-hand accounts from their families and mentors on the challenges faced in turning an idea into a sustainable solution.
Mentorship and support provided by Samsung and IIT Delhi’s Foundation for Innovation & Technology Transfer (FITT) to help refine and scale their innovations.
“There are always two ways of looking at problems—complaining about them or taking action to solve them,” said Sayed Safrahan Ullah Khabir from Team Eco Tech Innovator. “Arsenic contamination has plagued Assam for generations. My goal is to provide a sustainable solution that ensures access to clean drinking water for my community.”
For Arpit Kumar from Team METAL, innovation is about practical problem-solving, not just high-tech advancements. “Real innovation is about addressing real-world problems. In Bihar, every 20 km, someone is affected by arsenic contamination. Our mission is to change that.”
The ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ documentary is now streaming exclusively on JioHotstar.
