Tennis fans in India are set for two weeks of high-intensity clay-court action as Roland Garros 2026 gets underway on May 24. Sony Sports Network will broadcast the prestigious Grand Slam live across its sports channels, while viewers can also stream every match on Sony LIV with commentaries in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
This year’s French Open arrives with several intriguing storylines as the world’s top players battle for glory on the iconic red clay courts of Paris. Widely regarded as one of the toughest tournaments in professional tennis, Roland Garros continues to test players’ endurance, skill and mental strength like few other events on the tennis calendar.
The tournament will notably miss defending champion and crowd favourite Carlos Alcaraz, who has been ruled out due to injury. In his absence, World No. 1 Jannik Sinner will headline the men’s draw as he looks to add another Grand Slam title to his growing collection. The women’s competition is expected to be equally competitive, with Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff emerging as leading contenders for the coveted trophy.
To enhance the viewing experience, Sony Sports Network has assembled a strong panel of tennis experts and former stars. Grand Slam champion Sania Mirza and former Indian tennis ace Somdev Devvarman will provide in-depth analysis, tactical insights and expert commentary throughout the tournament. Their experience at the highest level of the sport is expected to offer viewers a deeper understanding of key matchups and player performances.
The network’s popular studio show ‘Extraaa Serve’ will also return during the tournament. Devvarman will join presenter Vedika Anand to break down major talking points, discuss match strategies and bring behind-the-scenes stories from Roland Garros. Mirza is scheduled to join the coverage during the final week, adding her perspective as the tournament reaches its decisive stages.
