Republic Media Network is set to launch its English business news channel, Republic Business, on November 2, 2026. Republic Founder, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami announced the launch date through the network’s official X account, describing the channel as the network’s fifth news channel and highlighting its vision for the business news segment.
The new channel will mark Republic’s entry into the dedicated business news television market. With the tagline ‘Bullish on India’, Republic Business is expected to focus on financial markets, the economy, corporate developments, business and policy, expanding the network’s coverage beyond its existing general news offerings.
Republic Business will enter a competitive English business news market that includes established broadcasters such as CNBC-TV18, ET Now and NDTV Profit. The launch comes as the network looks to broaden its television portfolio and strengthen its presence across different news segments.
Republic currently operates four television news channels: Republic TV in English, Republic Bharat in Hindi, Republic Bangla in Bengali and Republic Kannada in Kannada. With Republic Business going live, the network’s television portfolio will expand to five channels.
Goswami had outlined the network’s business news expansion plans at the Republic Media Summit in Mumbai on September 29. The launch is part of a broader expansion strategy that also includes plans for Marathi and Tamil news channels. The network has not yet announced launch dates for the proposed regional-language channels.
Alongside its television expansion, Republic has also strengthened its digital distribution with the launch of a video-only news app on October 12. The app brings together live news streams across languages, video-on-demand content and short-form news videos, providing audiences with another way to access the network’s content.
At the September summit, Goswami spoke about reducing the network’s dependence on technology companies and their algorithms for reaching audiences. He highlighted the video-only app as part of the network’s effort to establish a more direct relationship with viewers through its own digital platform.
The launch of Republic Business adds another dimension to the network’s expansion across television and digital media. As the channel prepares to go live on November 2, it will seek to establish its presence in the business news segment while Republic continues to develop its broader portfolio of news channels and digital offerings.
