The eagerly anticipated trailer of Randeep Hooda‘s directorial debut, ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar,’ has been revealed today, marking a significant moment for the actor known for his roles in ‘Highway,’ ‘Extraction,’ ‘Kick,’ and ‘Sarbjit.’
The trailer launch will take place at a multiplex in Mumbai’s Juhu area, as announced by Randeep on X (formerly Twitter), IANS reported.
Sharing the film’s poster, he invited followers to join the revelation of the untold story of the controversial revolutionary, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, with the hashtag #SwatantryaVeerSavarkarTrailer.
In his tweet, Randeep wrote, “Unsung and unheard, until now! Join us as we reveal the untold story of The Most Controversial Revolutionary of Akhand Bharat #SwatantryaVeerSavarkar. #SwatantryaVeerSavarkarTrailer Out Tomorrow.”
‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ delves into the life of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, with Randeep Hooda portraying the titular role. The film also features Ankita Lokhande and Amit Sial in key roles.
Randeep’s commitment to the project was evident when he visited the ‘Kalapani’ or cellular jail in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Savarkar’s death anniversary. Sharing glimpses from his visit on X, the actor revealed the challenges he faced, unable to stay locked for even 20 minutes during the film’s recce.
Produced by Zee Studios, Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh, Randeep Hooda, and Yogesh Rahar, with co-producers Roopa Pandit, Sam Khan, Anwar Ali, and Panchali Chakraborty, ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar‘ is slated for release on March 22 in Hindi and Marathi, promising an intriguing portrayal of one of India’s controversial revolutionaries.
