Dish TV India, a leading DTH service provider, has introduced the ‘Own Your Customer’ (OYC) initiative, redefining its collaboration with Local Cable Operators (LCOs).
According to press release from Dish TV, this strategic partnership aims to deliver an elevated TV viewing experience, streamlining operations and eliminating the need for extensive infrastructure.
Amidst the post-COVID landscape, where traditional cable TV services faced challenges, Dish TV’s OYC initiative emerged as a game-changer for cable operators. By providing a solution that enhances reliability without additional costs, this initiative enables LCOs to retain and strengthen their customer base, addressing concerns about the shift to DTH.
Under the OYC initiative, LCOs and MSOs gain complete control over their networks, acting as distributors of Dish TV in recharge and activation processes. This move reduces dependence on external entities, offering consumers improved technology with personalized assistance from their cable operators.

Commenting on the initiative, Manoj Dobhal, CEO of Dish TV India Ltd, expressed delight in introducing the ‘Own Your Customer’ campaign. Dobhal highlighted the transformative impact, stating that it not only empowers LCOs and MSOs but also expands their customer base and reduces operating costs while providing Dish TV access to new customers.
Dish TV’s commitment to supporting the growth of LCO businesses is evident through the OYC initiative. By revitalizing the cable TV industry with a customer-centric approach, Dish TV aims to reshape the future of entertainment distribution, fostering industry-wide change.
This unique initiative has garnered significant attention in the television distribution sector, with expectations that it will play a pivotal role in driving the evolution of entertainment distribution.
