Karnataka is all set to witness a landmark cultural gathering as Republic Media Network brings its celebrated flagship event to the state for the very first time. Titled R. Kannada Sangam, the event will unfold on June 19 at The Ritz-Carlton, Bengaluru, and promises to be a grand tribute to the state’s rich heritage and creative soul.
According to a press release issued by Republic Media, the theme for this year is “Karnataka: Beyond Time” – an homage to the timeless spirit of the state’s literature, music, visual arts, and linguistic legacy. The event follows the network’s previous cultural milestones in Hindi and Bangla, and marks the beginning of a new chapter in Karnataka’s cultural storytelling on a national platform.
From the emotive lines of Kuvempu to the grandeur of Hoysala architecture and the expressive vigour of Yakshagana, the evening will bring alive the essence of Karnataka in all its vibrancy. R. Kannada Sangam has been envisioned as more than just a showcase of performances — it’s a confluence of the past, present and future, offering immersive experiences and meaningful conversations.
Structured around three core elements — Swara (music), Sangam (dialogue), and Sahitya (literature) — the event will feature celebrated voices from across Kannada cinema, sports, art, literature, and public life. Guests can expect musical performances, dance acts, and discussions that reflect both tradition and modernity.
Along with performances, the event will also include engaging Q&A sessions, opportunities for dialogue among creators and thinkers, and curated moments of cultural reflection. The gathering aims to bridge generations and ideologies while offering a stage for Karnataka’s evolving identity.
As Republic Media Network continues its cultural outreach with regional narratives, R. Kannada Sangam stands as a significant step in telling Karnataka’s story in an authentic, passionate, and respectful voice. It seeks to create a space where tradition inspires modern expression, and where the creative spirit of Karnataka is both preserved and celebrated.
The event will be exclusively broadcast on R. Kannada on June 19. Viewers across the state and beyond are invited to witness this unique tribute to Karnataka’s enduring legacy.
