NAGRA, a subsidiary of the Kudelski Group and the world’s leading independent provider of content protection and media and entertainment solutions, announced today that QTAKE, a global provider of on-set video assist collaboration solutions, has integrated NAGRA NexGuard QuickMark forensic watermarking to secure live video and playback during film and television production.
This is the first time the industry has used forensic watermarking to secure content directly from the camera into the production pipeline.
“As with all premium content production, our users expect the most stringent content security measures to ensure their creative work is protected from illicit threats,” stated Vlado Struhar, CEO of QTAKE. “With NAGRA, we are now working with the content protection industry’s leader to deliver the most advanced forensic watermarking solution to protect all content in the production workflow.”
The QTAKE video assist tool is intended for use by production teams and content creators all over the world in the development of film, television, and advertising.
The metadata collaboration system from QTAKE synchronizes several production units to log, collect, playback, and analyze video content directly from the camera’s output to the cloud or on-premise storage. Because of the NAGRA collaboration, important content–such as production dailies, rushes, and takes–now includes forensic watermarking with a unique identity established on a user level to identify anyone leaking or unlawfully reproducing content.
Furthermore, the NAGRA NexGuard Detection Service detects material leaks quickly. This enables the identification of the user who is the source of the piracy in near real-time, allowing appropriate action to be done to stop illicit content distribution.
NAGRA NexGuard products are simply one component of a comprehensive anti-piracy toolkit developed for production and post-production enterprises.
“With our wide portfolio of security solutions and services, NAGRA is the only provider that secures content from production to delivery, ensuring true end-to-end content protection that covers the security gaps from camera to screen,” said Ken Gerstein, VP of Sales, NAGRA Anti-Piracy & NexGuard. “Our work with QTAKE continues to show our commitment to innovation as we are the first to bring forensic watermarking security measures to the earliest possible stage of content creation.”
