Amazon Prime Video has announced a broad slate of new series orders, renewals and premiere dates at the Amazon MGM Studios Upfront presentation in New York, led by a series adaptation of Rebecca Yarros’ fantasy bestseller ‘Fourth Wing’, alongside renewals for ‘Reacher’ and ‘Jury Duty’, apart from fresh updates on ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’.
Among the biggest announcements was ‘Fourth Wing’, based on Yarros’ bestselling fantasy novels, which was reported by Indianbroadcastingworld.com yesterday. The series follows Violet Sorrengail, who is pushed by her mother into the dangerous Basgiath War College, where aspiring dragon riders compete to survive. The adaptation brings together Meredith Averill, Michael B. Jordan and Lisa Joy as part of the creative team behind the project.
Prime Video, according to a statement from the company, also confirmed that ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ will return with Season 3 on November 11, 2026. The new season is set several years after the events of Season 2 and unfolds during the War of the Elves, as Sauron continues consolidating power in Middle-earth.
Action drama ‘Reacher’ has been renewed for a fifth season ahead of the launch of Season 4. Based on Lee Child’s novels, the series stars Alan Ritchson in the title role of Jack Reacher, with Maria Sten also returning as Frances Neagley.
Comedy series ‘Jury Duty’ was renewed for a third season as part of the streamer’s expanding unscripted and comedy slate. Prime Video additionally revealed several new projects across genres, including a new comedy series starring Brett Goldstein.
The company also highlighted the launch of college-hockey romance drama ‘Off Campus’, which premiered on May 13. Based on Elle Kennedy’s bestselling novels, the series stars Belmont Cameli as Garrett Graham and Ella Bright as Hannah Wells, and follows the relationships and rivalries surrounding an elite hockey team.
The announcements underscore Prime Video’s continued focus on franchise-building, fantasy adaptations and returning hits as streaming platforms intensify competition for global audiences. The latest slate spans fantasy, action, comedy and romance, with Amazon positioning established IP alongside fresh originals for its upcoming programming lineup.
