Prime Video has released the first look images of its upcoming horror series ‘Carrie’, based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel of the same name. The series has been created by filmmaker Mike Flanagan and will stream on Prime Video later this year.
According to a Prime Video press release,the story follows Carrie White, a quiet teenage girl who lives with her strict and controlling mother. After her father’s death, Carrie joins a public high school, where she struggles to fit in and becomes the target of bullying.
As she deals with these challenges, she discovers that she has mysterious supernatural powers, leading to a series of unexpected events.Summer H. Howell plays the lead role of Carrie, while Samantha Sloyan stars as her mother, Margaret White.
The series also features Matthew Lillard, Siena Agudong, Alison Thornton, Amber Midthunder, Josie Totah, Joel Oulette, Arthur Conti and Thalia Dudek in important roles. According to Prime Video, ‘Carrie’ is the first television series adaptation of Stephen King’s 1974 novel ‘Carrie’, which has previously been adapted into several successful films.
The series is written, produced and directed by Mike Flanagan, who is known for projects such as ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ and ‘Midnight Mass’.The first-look images offer an early look at the show’s characters and its dark atmosphere. Prime Video has confirmed that ‘Carrie’ will premiere on the streaming platform later this year.
