Amazon India has highlighted the rising popularity and expanding reach of Korean dramas in the country, curating a list of 17 must-watch titles on Prime Video India. The announcement captures how K-dramas have moved from being a niche interest to a mainstream entertainment choice for Indian viewers, driven by compelling storytelling, diverse genres, and increasing accessibility through dubbing and subtitles.

According to the Amazon statement yesterday, the curated slate reflects the breadth of Korean storytelling — from romance and fantasy to thrillers and slice-of-life narratives — resonating strongly with Indian audiences. The growing appetite for international content has positioned Korean dramas as a significant driver of engagement on the platform, with viewers exploring both contemporary hits and enduring fan favourites.

Among the highlighted titles is ‘Marry My Husband’, a revenge-driven drama centred on a woman who gets a second chance at life, alongside ‘Death’s Game’, which delves into existential themes through a high-concept narrative. Also featured is ‘May I Help You’, which blends fantasy and emotion through the story of a woman who grants the wishes of the deceased — each available to stream on Prime Video India.

The list further includes popular romantic and coming-of-age titles such as ‘She Was Pretty’ and ‘My ID is Gangnam Beauty’, which explore identity, relationships and self-worth.

‘She Was Pretty’, for example, revolves around two childhood best friends, Hye-Jin and Ji Sung-Joon, who were separated for 15 years. A time comes when these two meet again, but there is a twist. Ji Sung-Joon has now turned into a handsome man, while Hye-Jin has become underconfident and unattractive in appearance. This is why she asks her best friend to pretend to be her in front of Ji Sung-Joon. What happens next? Watch it to know the end.

Lighter, youth-centric narratives like ‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo’, ‘Cheer Up’, and ‘Find Me in Your Memory’ add to the mix, offering relatable characters and heartfelt storytelling for younger audiences on the platform.

Expanding into genre-driven storytelling, Prime Video’s selection features ‘Familiar Wife’ and ‘365: Repeat the Year’, both of which incorporate time-travel elements, as well as ‘My Secret Terrius’ and ‘Catch the Ghost’, which bring action and investigative drama to the lineup. More intense narratives such as ‘Marriage Contract’ and ‘Doctor Detective’ tackle emotional and socially relevant themes, broadening the appeal of the catalogue.

Completing the curated list are ‘Spring Fever’‘Head Over Heels’, and ‘The Killing Vote’, adding further variety across genres and tones.

Collectively, the 17 titles underscore Prime Video India’s focus on bringing globally popular Korean content to local audiences, reinforcing the platform’s role in shaping cross-cultural viewing trends in the country.
