Prime Video has announced its upcoming Prime Original film Mess, marking the second collaboration with Hrithik Roshan’s HRX Films after the previously announced thriller series ‘Storm’. The comedy film, produced by Hrithik Roshan and Eshaan Roshan, is being developed in association with Soda Films Lab.
According to a Prime Video press release, ‘Mess’ is directed by Rajesh A Krishnan and is set to begin production soon. The film brings together a unique creative team, with the original screenplay written by Paul Soter, while the adapted screenplay and dialogues have been penned by Kapil Sawant.
The story revolves around a motley group of robbers who break into the home of a man with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), only to find themselves in an unexpected and chaotic situation where survival becomes their primary concern. Positioned as a blend of comedy and tension, the film promises an unusual premise that combines humour with a night-long standoff.
Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals at Prime Video India, said the film stands out for its ability to surprise and entertain at every step. He noted that ‘Mess’ offers a refreshingly original storyline with distinctive characters, adding that the collaboration with HRX Films continues to grow stronger after Storm. Madhok also expressed confidence in Rajesh A Krishnan’s ability to deliver a compelling narrative within the comedy genre.
Hrithik Roshan described ‘Mess’ as a natural progression in the partnership between HRX Films and Prime Video, highlighting the platform’s support for bold and innovative storytelling. He praised Krishnan’s creative vision, noting his ability to blend comedy with engaging narratives, and added that both he and Eshaan Roshan are excited about the film’s potential to connect with audiences seeking unconventional stories.
Sharing his perspective, Rajesh A Krishnan said that developing the film alongside Kapil Sawant has been a rewarding experience. He described the film’s world as an engaging mix of chaos and comedy, designed to keep audiences intrigued. He also acknowledged the collaborative support from HRX Films and Prime Video, expressing confidence that the project has found the right platform.
As Mess moves into production, further details, including casting and release timelines, are expected to be revealed in the coming months, building anticipation around what promises to be a quirky addition to Prime Video’s growing slate of original content.
